On 2 December 2023, the Jiangsu Province Junior Flight Simulated Championship was held at Nanjing Jiangbei New Area High-tech Experimental Primary School. This competition, hosted by the Jiangsu Province Aviation Sports Association, featured 331 athletes from 17 units across the province, participating in a total of 614 events. Alex, a Year 7 student from NTSIS, won the Third Place (Bronze Medal) of the Second Prize in the middle school group of the “Five Sides Competition”.

The Junior Flight Simulated Championship, as a “whitelist” youth competition organized by the Ministry of Education, is an aviation technology event utilising specialised flight software and hardware devices to simulate real-world flight scenarios. This sport enhances athletes’ hand-brain coordination thinking agility, adaptability and aviation knowledge, thereby fostering future talents for the aviation industry.

Alex’s excellent performance is a result of his diligent training. Initially, as a teenager passionate about flying, he experienced the professional flying for the first time at the Weipai Aviation Technology Experience Center in Nantong. Under the guidance of professional flight instructors, he completed theoretical learning and practical training. After mastering the basic flight operations of the Cessna 172 aircraft, he undertook serious and rigorous takeoff and landing training.

Currently, Alex is preparing for the 2024 National Junior Flight Simulated Championships as a key member of the Nantong City representative team, striving for even better results. NTSIS is proud of Alex’s achievements and looks forward to supporting him in his future endeavours in aviation.
