A sunny day on November 15th,  our school was bathed in sunshine, brimming over with vigor and vitality.

The opening ceremony of the 5th Sports Day was held in the spacious and bright gymnasium of our school. The Chinese national flag stood out against the flags of 15 other different countries, reminding that this is an international school. Principal Wu Heping delivered an enthusiastic opening speech, encouraging students to fight hard at the sports field, build up their body and will, display their team spirit, and win glory for their classes with their best  possible performances. Also at the opening ceremony the fourth grade students  performed a vigorous and cheerful sports dance with the primitive tribal customs in Africa.

In the subsequent competitions, there were both recreational items and competitive items which  demonstrated not only students’ personal ability but also their team spirit (such as rope skipping, tug-of-war, etc.). Be it on the playground or in the gymnasium, you could witness the climaxes of various competitions one after another with all athletes scrambling for the first place; The cheering and applause could be heard time and time again, which was loud enough even to reach the clouds.

This Sports Day turned out to be more of a happy carnival rather than just a grand sports event,  which reflects the vivid picture of active participation  and fair competion,  and was also a vivid interpretation of our school’s concept of “happy sports and healthy growth”.
